VMPC (Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada), VMPNS (Association of Volunteer Management Professionals of Nova Scotia) and Better Impact Inc. are working together to make it possible for your volunteer centre, AVA or other group of professionals to bring this year’s VMPC national conference to your community through the wonders of live streaming over the internet!
The conference will feature keynote speaker Gerard Murphy from Barefoot Facilitation, Denise Scott and her colleagues from Immigration Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) and a comprehensive panel discussion with Volunteer Managers with diverse experience working in the volunteer management field. Your community can participate in these workshops as part of a hybrid conference.
This hybrid conference concept streams workshop presenters into your 1-day mini-conference event and creates a real conference workshop experience without the expense of travel. The workshops will be run much like any good workshop you have been in, with the opportunity for table discussion and questions directed to the workshop presenter.
To create some interaction between the remote locations and the live presenter, we have to limit the number of remote locations that can participate. These will be chosen on a first come, first served basis and subject to their ability to host a remote session such as this. To learn more about this, including the short list of things you’ll need as a host, go to http://www.vmpns.com/2016conference/ or http://www.betterimpact.ca/vmpc-annual-conference-2016/. If you’d like to learn more, you are welcome to contact Annette of VMPNS at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 902-452- 8198.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of our national conference and to bring these presenters into your community! The fee to host a remote conference is only $300 CDN payable to Association of Volunteer Management Professionals Nova Scotia (VMPNS), c/o Museum of Natural History, 1747 Summer St. Halifax, NS B3H 3A6.
